There is a tetrahydrate FeCl24H2O, which is a transparent blue-green monoclinic crystal.
It`s density 1.93 g / cm 3. It is easy to be air-slake and soluble in water, ethanol, acetic acid, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether.

Part of the oxidation in the air turns grass green. It is gradually oxidized to ferric chloride in the air. Anhydrous ferrous chloride is a yellowish green hygroscopicity crystal, soluble in water to form a light green solution.That is salt of four water.
