Product Overview

Cobalt trioxide, an inorganic compound, is a black oxide of cobalt. It is generally used for the coloring of glass and ceramic products, color is cobalt blue. This special cobalt blue glass is also used in the fine glass processing industry, as a filter lens to remove the sodium yellow light from the hot glass, the operator can see the details of the glass more clearly. It is soluble in hot hydrochloric acid and hot dilute sulfuric acid and released chlorine and oxygen, respectively. It can be reduced to cobalt sesquioxide by hydrogen at a temperature of 125 °C. It is reduced to cobalt oxide at 200 ° C, and reduced to cobalt by hydrogen and carbon monoxide at 250 ° C. Cobalt trioxide was decomposed at 895 °C. It is converted to Co3O4 at about 600 ° C, further converted to 4CoO·Co2O3 at a higher temperature, and finally becomes CoO. It is colorless monoclinic crystals. Melting point is 86.5°C, relative density is 1.69 (17°C), Soluble in water, acid and alkali, insoluble in alcohol. The aqueous solution is acidic.
