Product Overview

Potassium ferrocyanide is a Potassium Ferrocyanide with the formula: K4Fe(CN)6·3H2O. It is light yellow monoclinic crystal or powder, odorless, slightly salty, with a relative density of 1.85. Stable at room temperature, heated to 70 °C began to lose crystal water, 100 °C completely lose crystal water to become a hygroscopic white powder. Decomposition occurs at a high temperature and releases nitrogen to form potassium cyanide and iron carbide. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, ether, methyl acetate and liquid ammonia. The aqueous solution is decomposed into iron hydroxide in the presence of light and reacts with excess Fe3+ to form Prussian blue pigment. Light yellow monoclinic crystal or powder, odorless. Stable in the air, heated to 70°C, began to lose crystal water, and became a hygroscopic white powder anhydrous at 100°C.
