Product Overview

Solid acrylamide (AM) is usually a colorless transparent plate crystal. The pure product is a white crystalline solid. It is easily soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, propanol, slightly soluble in ethyl acetate, chloroform, slightly soluble in benzene. It can be hydrolyzed to acrylic acid in an acid-base environment. Acrylamide is the parent compound of a large class of monomers including methacrylamide, AMPS (anionic monomer, 2-Acraylamide-2-Methyl Propane Sulfonic Acide) , DMC (cationic monomer, methyl-acyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride) and N-substituted acrylamide compounds. Occupational exposure is mainly found in the synthesis of acrylamide and the synthesis of resins and adhesives. It also has opportunities for exposure in underground construction, improved soil, paint, paper and garment processing industries. In daily life, it can be contacted in smoking, high-temperature processed starch foods and drinking water.
